HP Michelet, Director

Hans Peter (HP) Michelet is an experienced investor and entrepreneur. His senior management experience in multi-cultural financial institutions, strong organizational and leadership skills, and in-depth insight into MatchBack Systems’ corporate culture make him well-qualified to lead MatchBack Systems as chairman of the board.  HP is an independent financier with investments in a number of start-up companies since 1998.  In all his investments, HP takes an active role and he has been an Executive Chairman in multiple companies during their early growth stages.
HP is the chairman of Energy Recovery Inc. (NASDAQ: ERII), the world leader in energy recovery devices for the desalination industry and has been integral to the success of the company since 1994. He first joined the board of directors in August 1995 and has served as its chairman since September 2004, during which time he has been intrinsically involved in most of the company’s strategic decisions. HP is also chairman of the board since 1999 for SynchroNet Marine, Inc., a transportation logistics company who uses technology to transform proprietary customer container data into valuable information and services to optimize maritime (ISO) container utilization globally, regionally and locally.
Prior to 1998, HP was partner of Delphi Asset Management and was successful in making Delphi one of the fastest growing Norwegian asset management companies.  From 1992 to 1996, HP held the position of Deputy Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Fiba Nordic Securities AS, and was instrumental in establishing the firm as a major Scandinavian investment bank.  He has also held key roles at Finanshuset and Storebrand Insurance Corporation.
HP currently holds several Board of Director (BOD) positions, including Profunda, one of the leading innovative salmon breeding companies in the world and IRIS Forskningsinvest, the commercial arm of the International Research Institute of Stavanger, Norway.  He was finalist in the E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year in 2008 and 2010 for Northern California.  HP holds a BBA in Finance from the University of Oregon.
